Community action weekend
I went to Jaco beach to volunteer for a day at the beach. A small group of people came with me, and two teachers. The trip was very well organized.
We departed at 6AM (very early) from school and arrived in 2 hours at the beach. Since the weather was rainy, we could not go to the beach in the first few hours of our arrival so we went to Jaco Impact's (a small organization that helps increase the welfare of the community at Jaco) base. There we helped organize donated clothes into different piles. It was entertaining, it was like a huge thrift store. I also bonded with people who I didn't really know before while we were piling the clothes. Around lunch, it stopped raining so we went to the beach where we planted small trees. It was pretty hard work but it felt very nice to do something great for the environment. We planted around 40 trees and then we had free time to swim in the ocean. It was a lot of fun, we played a lot with the waves, and everyone was so happy.
