We had a three-day Model United Nations a few weeks ago; it was some of my best memories here. I was a bit scared initially since we had to prepare in advance for the conference and I did my proposition paper very last minute. I was the delegate of the USA which was very interesting.
I liked that role since that country has similar values that I support in debates like that. However, it would have been also very interesting to represent a country that holds very different values. I was in the UN Women's Committee and the topic was "Addressing various degrading issues of transgender women in regards to employment and healthcare". That was a fascinating subject for me, firstly because I did not have a lot of prior knowledge on it, and secondly because in my previous school, in Hungary we were not allowed to talk about issues like that. We could get nominated for awards in the end. I got Outstanding Delegate which is great, even though I was aiming for the Best Delegate nomination that I did not get. The delegate of Japan got it, and she did a very good job, so I am actually very proud of her.
We have MUN every year here. Next year I would love to be on the organizing team.
